“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgiving and ordinary opportunities into blessings.” William Arthur Ward
What a wonderful opportunity we have to discuss and model gratitude with our preschoolers and kindergartners during the month of November! Our circle time conversations, art projects, and Thanksgiving feasts center on all the blessings we are thankful for this month. In addition, Spanish Schoolhouse children and families are invited to share with those who may have less than us or just need a smile (una sonrisa) to brighten their days.
We are so pleased to partner with organizations in our community by collecting needed items for food pantries, delivering ornaments or coloring books to children’s hospitals, creating and sending cards to senior centers, donating gifts to children’s advocacy centers, making thank you posters to our military members, and providing paper products, snacks, and diapers to those in homeless shelters. We love to see the smiles on the students’ faces as they make their contributions from the heart!
Thank you to all of our families who support these efforts. We are grateful for all of the ways that you enrich our lives daily and for the wonderful blessing of sharing your precious children with us. We encourage you to continue the conversations at home, and to find ways to express gratitude in your families each day throughout the year!
Wishing a Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Spanish Schoolhouse families!
